My Journey to Birth Work
I am a Licensed Certified Professional Midwife serving Central Kentucky and surrounding areas. My husband, Steve, and I live in Georgetown, KY with our family.
My path to midwifery began after my first two pregnancies ended in unplanned and unnecessary cesareans, leaving me feeling defeated. Finding support through the International Cesarean Network (ICAN) opened my eyes to a better way.
With the successful home birth after two cesareans (HBA2C) of my third child, a passion was ignited within me to help mothers experience informed, supported, and empowered care.

The Honor of a Lifetime
This moment from my daughter Allie’s birth will stay with me forever. She looked at me and said, ‘Mommy, it hurts.’ I looked her in the eyes and said, ‘I know, baby,’ as she fell on me to rest between surges. Having the honor and privilege of serving my daughter as midwife, supporting her crossing that threshold and witnessing her strength, solidified my belief that birth work is my calling. This is the level of deep, unwavering support every mother deserves—and it is the exact same support I have poured into the hundreds of families I’ve had the honor of guiding through their own thresholds.

Student Midwife: Angelia Reed, DONA
I have been a doula for eight years and am so honored to work alongside Elizabeth as her student during my journey of completing my midwifery studies. My passion is rooted in serving mamas during the transition motherhood entails. I believe the midwife’s purpose is to be with women as they embrace such a meaningful transformation. My mission is to nurture and support women throughout their unique journey of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period–to be a loving, supportive presence during each phase that unfolds. Tending to women and babies is my deepest calling, and truly a ministry I feel blessed to be in. – Angelia

Office Manager: Dominique Jones
Dominique Jones is the Office Manager at A Woman’s Work Midwifery, bringing nearly a decade of experience supporting midwifery practices through organization, administration, and compassionate client care. She is passionate about creating efficient systems that allow providers to focus on caring for families.
Dominique graduated as Valedictorian of the Global Organization of Midwives Midwifery Certification Program in 2017 and is currently pursuing her Certified Midwife (CM) education. She plans to serve her rural Hawaiʻi community as a Certified Midwife upon graduation.
Dominique lives in Hawaii with her husband and two young children. Outside the office, she enjoys reading, crafting, and creating herbal remedies to support mothers and newborns. She is dedicated to supporting both families and midwives by helping create a welcoming, organized, and well-run practice.
