Pregnancy and childbirth are two of the most amazing and
memorable experiences of a woman’s life.
My name is Elizabeth, and as a doula I am blessed with the
privilege of accompany birthing women through
the amazing transition into
motherhood and help them achieve a birth experience that they will
remember and cherish forever. Located centrally, in Frankfort Kentucky,
I am able to travel to women birthing both in and out of the hospital
within an hour and a half of my home.
Some of the locations I serve include Frankfort, Lexington,
Louisville, Shelbyville, Versailles, Wilmore, Harrodsburg, Lawrenceburg,
Danville, Georgetown, Newport, Covington, and Cincinnati.
Until very recently in history, women have always
surrounded and supported by other women when giving birth.
A woman might have witnessed many births before having her
first baby when she herself would be supported by other women such as neighbors, friends
and sisters.
With the
transition of maternity care from the hands of midwives into the
physicians of the western medical tradition, this woman to woman support
was mostly lost. Today, with
the advent of the professional doula, women are regaining the benefits
of woman to woman support during pregnancy and childbirth, allowing them
to find their way through the labyrinth of birth, to the experience that
is right for mama and baby.

As a birth doula, I am committed to providing the
information, resources, and support that will lead each mother to have
an empowering birth experience.
My services include individualized prenatal preparation,
continuous, compassionate labor support, breastfeeding education and
support, and placenta encapsulation.
